Ever since Caitlyn Jenner came out as transgender last year, she’s blazed a groundbreaking trail for transgender people and opened up the eyes of many people to the world of the transgender community. And one person in particular who she’s touched is out celebrity EJ Johnson, who recently revealed that he questioned his own gender identity after Jenner’s transition.

As fans know, Johnson famously came out of the closet as a gay man in 2013 and garnered massive international attention as his father, basketball icon Magic Johnson, showered his son with love and support after coming out. Since then, Johnson has become a famous fashion maven who is known for his gender bending flare and style.

Now, according to media reports, Johnson reveals in an upcoming episode of his new reality show, “EJNYC,” that he questioned whether he was transgender after Jenner made the transition from Bruce Jenner to Caitlyn.

“I’ve always been very fashion-forward. I’ve always definitely mixed men’s and women’s fashion in my life, but I never thought that it would raise so many questions about my own gender. I never really thought it was under investigation. Sometimes it’s hard being in the middle, kind of in the gray area in my own lane. Now, since everybody’s talking about Caitlyn Jenner and being transgender, people are so quick to say, ‘Oh, just because you’re dressing like that means that you’re going to transition to become a woman,'” Johnson says.

He added, “I thought about it, for sure. I was just like, ‘Well, do I want to transition? Is this something that I would do?’ But I don’t feel incomplete in that way. I don’t feel the need to do that.”

Although Johnson says that he doesn’t consider himself to be transgender, he explains that he is intrigued by the transition process and wants to learn more about it.

“I’m interested to talk about what it means to actually transition. Like, if you’re going to take that leap or that step, what’s going on mentally that’s telling you, ‘This is what I need to do?’ Because I don’t feel that way,” Johnson explains.

Well, we’re curious to know what Jenner thinks about her impact on Johnson. Perhaps she’ll publicly respond once the episode airs.
