After two seasons chronicling Caitlyn Jenner adjusting to life as a transgender woman, E! has canceled “I Am Cait.”

The reality show debuted in July 2015, a few months after millions watched Jenner’s now-famous interview with Diane Sawyer, in which the gold-medal Olympian (formerly Bruce) told the world, “For all intents and purposes, I am a woman.”

Previously, Jenner starred for years with her family on E!’s flagship “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” empire — and it sounds like she’ll remain in the franchise even though her own show is over.

“We are incredibly proud of the two seasons of ‘I Am Cait,’ a groundbreaking docu-series that sparked an important and unprecedented global conversation about transgender people, their struggles and triumphs,” an E! rep said in a statement. “Caitlyn and E! have mutually decided not to move forward with another season at this time … we look forward to continue following her journey as she appears on ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians.’”

Even though Jenner’s journey made headlines around the world, “I Am Cait” never caught on in the ratings. About 1.4 million people watched the show each week during the eight-episode first season. Viewership dropped to less than a million people per episode during the second season, which premiered this spring. While the ratings-magnet Kardashians showed up briefly (much of the family and Kanye West were in the premiere), many of the plot lines featured people in Jenner’s new circle who weren’t as well-known.

Jenner weighed in on Twitter on Tuesday. “After 2 amazing seasons of @IAmCait, it’s time for the next adventure,” she tweeted. “Thank you E! & thank you to the best girlfriends I could ask for!”
