Caitlyn Jenner does NOT have a drinking problem, despite a completely made-up tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s not true.
According to Star, the former Olympian is struggling with depression and has turned to alcohol to cope with her problems. A so-called “source” tells the magazine, “She’s drinking a bottle of wine by herself every night, often more, because she’s so unhappy. She’s self-medicating and bottling up her feelings, pretending everything’s okay when in fact it’s never been worse.”
The outlet’s dubious insider goes on to make the ridiculous claim that Jenner’s “local liquor store in Malibu has actually run out of her favorite brand of Pinot Grigio because she drained their stocks dry.” The “source” further purports that the reality star “pretends she’s happy” when she’s around friends, but is secretly miserable.
But Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Jenner, who exclusively assures us there’s no truth to the tabloid’s tale. We’re told she she doesn’t have a drinking problem or go through a bottle of wine a night. In fact, we’re told, “Not even a glass a night!” This is simply a non-story concocted by the magazine.
Unfortunately, we’re not surprised by the outlet’s fabrication. Gossip Cop previously busted Star’s sister publication, the National Enquirer, for falsely claiming Jenner was getting plastic surgery to attract men. And shortly before that, we debunked the magazine for wrongly reporting Jenner was planning a nude photo shoot. This latest report alleging she has a drinking problem is equally untrue.
